4.22 - My discussion/questions
May. 15th, 2009 02:22 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
I wrote this one in my notebook when I was forced to leave for school, LOL! (At least I wrote it in English, so my classmates couldn't understand any of it when I continued to write this during a break)
Sooo, here we go:
OMG, OH MY HOLY FUCKING GOD!
Excuse me while I'm still squeeing!
I CALLED IT! I KNEW WE'D GET EXACTLY THIS CLIFFHANGER SINCE MID-SEASON-BREAK!
And I totally called it, too, that Dean had to do more than simply stopping the apocalypse from happening!
I was SO FLOORED when they revealed that it was Azazel's plan all along to raise Lucifer! I'd never have guessed that he and Lilith had the same goal, I always thought that he was simply gunning for a higher rank in Hell instead of freeing Lucifer!
Overall, this episode raised more questions for me than bringing answers, though. (Did they do some other last minute rewrites or did Misha purposely mislead us with the slip from Cherryhill Con that Dean's gonna get some angel!powers from Anna?
Same with the rumours about Bobby dieing.... but that this never happened is a good thing! I'm still cheering, because I was seriously fearing for Bobby's life, especially because I knew that he was only going to be in one scene at the beginning of the episode, YAY!
I don't want him to die, he's like fandom's most favourite, excentric uncle =D
And speaking of Misha.... CAS!
The poor guy looked like a kicked puppy at the beginning of this episode... I just wanted to hug him to make it better....
I love Misha's acting abilities, I really liked that he didn't flinch when Dean punched Castiel in the face! (And hee! Cas SO has a stone-jaw.....) and all this eye!sexing he and Dean had going on this episode... nice! =D
Let's not forget the "shove against the wall"-thing he did to Dean....
Chuck! *chuckles* (He's got a rather appropriate name, huh?)
I really had to giggle when he tried to order 20 women (I'm not decided if those women were strippers or hookers, LOL!)
He totally expected the world to end this night (that raises the question why he didn't think that someone would do something about it, even if he didn't see Dean and Cas doing anything... looks like even prophets aren't always completely right)
And I wonder how long poor Castiel managed to distract the other angels... he'd have to use some powerful mojo to do so (we still haven't seen Cas win a fight... poor guy!)
Wasn't it kinda cute when Chuck laid his hand on Cas' shoulder? I really aww'ed =D
And another question that's still bugging me (which I expect half of the fandom already discussed until death) is why did Castiel use colloquial language when he and Dean were at Chuck's place? Is it a sign that Dean's seriously rubbing off on him? It'd explain the disobedience-part at least. [I hope you don't think I'm crazy but when I saw this scene for the first time, I thought for a split second that Cas'd pull a Ruby and give Dean some blood... until I remembered the promo where he drew this sigil on the wall....)
It is so not a Cas-thing to do... can't wait to see what they're gonna do with him next season because of this!
On another note... what happened to Anna? She wasn't even mentioned in this episode and I think I remember early reports listing her for the final 2 episodes... or am I confusing something here?
(I have to admit that her character kinda grew on me after 4.10...)
About Dean's mission again: I knew since 4.17 that there was more to his destiny than simply stopping the breaking of the 66 Seals! Thanks to Zacharias... when he talked with Dean and said to him that he's gonna do everything he's destined to do instead of saying out loud that he's got to avert the breaking of the Seals, I KNEW it! =D
So now we've got to expect a great smack-down between Dean and Lucifer, Y/Y?
(I'm wondering about what Sam's gonna have to say about this revelation... and am I the only one that's thinking that it's awesome that Dean's gonna one-up the archangel Michael who smacked Lucifer down to Down Under the first time according to common lore? [And by Down Under, I'm not thinking of Australia here, dudes!])
This is SO hitting my buttons, dudes!
And do we now have to expect some angel!powers for Dean next season? It's a bit unlikely that Dean's gonna off Lucifer with his bare hands... (Oh please give him a sword, I'd love you eternally Kripke! I know there's also the Colt but that one's gone somewhere Down Under and I hope it won't resurface again, since they already off-ed Azazel with it and I don't want it to get overused.)
And speaking of the devil (lame joke, I know, but I couldn't resist!), I SO want to know what he looks like... or if he even needs a meatsuit! (I'm kinda still hoping that he'll possess Sam.... since I don't believe that the tattoo both Winchesters got'd be enough to keep Lucifer himself out.
It'd even make a weird kind of sense in my head because I really can't believe that they'd just need a special child to off Lilith! And this raises even another question: what about the other generations of special children Azazel mentioned earlier? Was he lying or did Ava kill them back in S2, too?)
What did Sam do this episode? I wanted to smack him when he gave his okay for Ruby to kill the girl... in this scene, he nearly deserved to be called a monster... but I still felt sorry for him... at least the blood-drinking is over now.
Coming to.... Ruby!
I cheered when Dean killed her with Sam's help! Finally!
I never once believed that she'd be a “good” demon, sorry Ruby-fans... it's the non-existant Winchester-luck with women that tipped me off, it never ends well for them if a woman's involved... they've got a fabulous track record with them after all, starting with John Winchester himself.
And there are even more questions: Why did the archangel go after Chuck and Cas if he's got the mission to protect Chuck (it's not as if Cas was threatening Chuck!), wouldn't it make more sense for him going directly after Dean and not bothering with Cas?
What Azazel said at the beginning of the episode, does that mean that Lucifer fell alone in the SPN-Universe contrary to the whole “one third of the Angels rebelled with him”? (Okay, we already got a hint from Ruby about this when she said that Lilith was the first demon Lucifer made... so this means there's no chance for Heaven getting new angels but Hell getting more demons all the time?)
And I agree with Bobby that Dean's a better man than John ever was!
[I still believe that John could never have started the apocalypse because he never was what I'd describe as “righteous” [I think “driven by revenge” is a better description for him] and that Alastair's comment about John in 4.16 was just designed as a low blow to Dean's already nearly non-existent self-esteem. I mean, if even Heaven knew about Dean's Daddy-issues, why shouldn't Hell knew about them, too, and use that knowledge against Dean?
Mainly, I think it can't have been true because I can't imagine John not breaking after several decades on the rack, it'd wear everybody down! I bet they got John to do it and nothing happened.. and that it got them gunning for Dean!]
This episode raised more new questions for me than giving answers to old ones..... SUMMER'LL BE HELL!
Questions I want answers to in S5:
1.Did vision!Mary meant it literally when she said that the Winchesters were cursed in 4.21?
2.Is Sam cured of his DemonBlood!Addiction or is he still hooked? And if he is, how will they fix him?
3.Is Cas' disobedience already reason enough for him to Fall or does it happen later in S5? Or is he going to be a rogue!angel like Anna was? [There's no question for me IF he falls, I'm sure it'll happen!]
4.What about Anna?
5.And if we're talking about Heaven, what exactly happened to Cas when he was dragged back to "Bible Camp"?
6.Are we going to see Jimmy again?
7.Or Chuck?
8.I want to know how old the prophecy about Dean having to stop Lucifer is (and for that matter: is this prophecy related to the one about starting the apocalypse or not[ since the Demons did know about it but didn't try to take out Dean... I'd have tried to off him if I knew he's destined to stop Lucifer if I was a demon]?)
This is the first time I wrote such a review for an episode.... phew, it took quite some time! But I thought this one deserved it =D
